Spiritual Growth Denotes Obedience to God
How can you evaluate your spiritual growth? Can you tell when you are growing and when you are not? What is the evidence of spiritual growth in your life? Let us look at the evidence of spiritual growth in these Scriptures.
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:12-14
It is time for spiritual growth. God expects you to grow. He expects you to exercise your spiritual senses, work hard, and move from mere listening with no evident signs of change. God expects you to learn, practice what you have learned, and then teach what you have learned and practiced to others.
Part of spiritual growth is the ability to discern what is good and evil. A departure from willful sins and the conscious effort to sin less is a good indication that you are growing.
