Your Heavenly Father Part 2

How majestic is your heavenly Father? The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Your heavenly Father is like no other. His glory fills the heavens. He is clothed in splendor. He lives in the brightness of his glory. He is self-existing. He upholds all things by the word of his power. Even today, He dwells in His own Majesty on high. Are you looking for someone who is strong and influential to fight your cause or to stand for you? You have more than a man. You have your heavenly Father as your representative. No one will represent you better than your heavenly Farther. No one will be more influential than Him. Have you talked to Him? Have you presented your case and request to Him?

There is forgiveness from your heavenly Father. When the prodigal son left home on that inauspicious day, he had no plans of going back. He did not know what awaited him in the future either. Days went by quickly and before long, his riches dwindled. To his astonishment, he found himself in the company of swines and with no true friends. At his wit’s end, he remembered the abundance that characterized his home. He thought on the love he had forsaken. He longed for the peace and the blessings that had eluded him. Without any further delay, he made up his mind to return home and seek forgiveness. The lure of sin is real. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life are real. As we pursue them, we find ourselves estranged from the love and the care of our heavenly Father. They subject us to life’s bitter lashes. Like the prodigal son, you don’t have to dine with the pigs in life. Get back to the Father. There is forgiveness in God. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:9-10)

Your heavenly Father will never leave nor forsake you. God’s desire is to dwell with you. It is for this very reason that He formed you, breathed in you His breath of life, and made you a living soul. God knew that you cannot make it alone as you navigate the terrains of life. It is for this reason that He formed you in His image: that you may know that you belong to Him. Man is quick to run away from God. Man is also quick to think that God has forgotten and forsaken him. When times of difficulty come, it is easy to think that God has left you to face those ugly giants alone and in your little strength. This is a lie that the enemy wants you to believe. God’s promise stands true every day. He will never leave nor forsake you. God has engraved you in the palms of His hands. Your statutes are ever before God. How can He turn away from His own? This is His promise to you today. “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Your heavenly Father pities you. God has not left you desolate. Your welfare is always before God. God is aware of the times get perplexed. He is concerned in moments when your spirit is weighed down or crashed. This is because He cares for you. He will not let you carry a load that is too heavy for you. when His children were subjected to cruel and heavy bondage in Egypt, He sent His servant Moses to them saying, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.” (Exodus 3:7-8) God hears when you cry. As you begin to buckle under the weight of the cares of this world, He knows. He does not stand afar off like a stranger with no concern. His promise stands true for you today: “the righteous cry out and the Lord heareth them, He delivereth them from all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17)

Our heavenly Father will not always chide. Many people have a wrong notion about God. They see God as an angry old man with a long beard waiting to hit anyone who sins and walks away from His path. If this were true, none of us would be alive. The Lord our God is merciful and gracious. He is longsuffering and abundant in goodness and truth. He does not punish us for every little thing He sees. God desires to see His children go through life fruitful and fulfilled. That is why God woos you to Himself all the times. He understands your makeup. He knows how He formed you. listen to God’s testimony on how He deals with you as His child. “He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” (Psalm 103:9-14)

Your heavenly Father provides for your needs as you ask and make supplications to Him. God has the power to miraculously provide for your needs without asking. As a matter of fact, there are times when He answers our prayers before we ask. There are other times when He answers while we are still asking. However, God’s method of choice for meeting your needs is through asking. God’s admonition is clear as recorded in Matthew 7:7-11. “7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” a failure to ask on your part not only denies you the basic needs of your but deprives you of strong fellowship with your Father. Remember to ask today.
