Your Heavenly Father Part 1

Your Heavenly Father: God is your Father. God is a father to every believer. He is a father to the fatherless. (Isaiah 68:5) To the nonbeliever, God desires a relationship with you. As a father, God takes full responsibility for His children. You belong to Him. God has your physical, spiritual, and emotional needs at heart. All who hear and follow Him enjoy God’s sufficiency in all aspects of their lives. There is no one who will take care of you like your heavenly Father. No one has and will ever charge God with neglect as a Father. The Psalmist was accurate in saying, “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.” Psalm 37:25-26. Don’t walk like one who is destitute or forsaken. Look unto your heavenly Father today. You belong to Him.

Your heavenly Father loves you. God loves you. God does not leave His children scrambling for His love. None of His children feels desolate. Your heavenly Father has undivided love for you every day. In fact, you are loved with an everlasting love. God loves you as though you were His only child. He lavishes His love so immensely that to walk through life devoid of God’s love is to testify of your distant relationship with Him. Enjoy God’s love and blessings today. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.”(Ephesians 1:3-5)

Your heavenly Father cares for you. No one takes care of His children like God, your Father. Mothers have a way with their children. It is not easy to surpass the love of a mother, but God’s love is incomparable to the best love you will ever receive in the world. Take comfort in God’s assurance as evidenced in Isaiah 49:15-16. “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” You must remember that God cares for you regardless of what you face today. God cannot forget about you. He has put you in His secure palm. You are ever before Him. What makes you think He will forget about you?

Your heavenly Father is full of compassion. God is touched by the feelings of your infirmities. Your heavenly Father is not a God who distances Himself from your pain and anguish. God hears the cry of your heart. He sees your sorrow. He understands your pain. He is empathetic to your plight. Whatever touches and bothers you touches the heart of God. Even in your moments of failure, God remembers that you are dust. With tenderness and mercy, He reaches out to establish and steady you again. In Matthew 9:36, Christ looked at the crowds with compassion as He compared them to sheep without a shepherd. Don’t walk through life alone. Don’t let your troubles overwhelm you to the extent that you lose joy, zeal, and even purpose in life. You have a heavenly Father who loves and cares for you. He is full of compassion. Share your heart with your heavenly Father today.

Your heavenly Father: No man can surpass His tenderness. High and lofty though God is, He is mindful of you. Like a good shepherd, God does not harass His children. Instead, He deals with us in His tenderness. He truly cares for you. It is for such reasons that He extends His arms of grace to you today saying, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) Regardless of where you find yourself today, get back into the tender arms of your loving Father. Life is harsh and its lashes are real and painful. Enjoy God’s tenderness and nearness today.

Your heavenly Father is powerful. His Power knows no limits. Who can withstand the power of God? One early morning, Elisha’s servant, woke up only to find a large army had compassed the city both with horses and chariots. In fear and terror, he called on God’s servant. The Prophet of God reassured him saying, “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” The Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. You don’t have to go through life afraid today. Your Heavenly Father is mighty and powerful. Stand still and see His salvation. Let Him fight your battles. Witness His hand and power at work as He sets a table before you in the presence of your enemies today.
