Walk in faith

17. Walk in faith
One great surprise in heaven, I believe, will be knowing how much God spoke to our specific situations without our stopping to either hear Him or act on His spoken Word. God did not design the Christian walk to be a life of mystical mysteries of ever groping in darkness and never hearing God or finding His direction. God promises to guide us: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.” Psalm 32:8-9. God speaks. He guides. Nevertheless, this cannot help us unless we listen, hear, believe and act accordingly.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, everyone a ruler among them. Numbers 13:1-2

The eyes of faith make us see things as God sees them and believe God to do as promised. The whole reason why Israel was walking through the wilderness was because God was taking them to the Promised Land. When He asked Moses to sent people to search the land, there were those who forgot that Canaan was their land of promise. They saw the land for what it was, a land flowing with milk and honey and plenteous in fruit, but they were terrified by the size of the inhabitants.

Caleb and Joshua took God at His Word and stilled the Israelites saying, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. Numbers 13:30. Believe God for what He has said and walk in faith.

What is God saying to you? Take time to seek, hear and follow Him without being distracted by fear or the critics of our times. The eyes of faith will lead you to God’s purposeful paths in life.
