16. God Has a Remnant
Regardless of how bad things look around you, and in the world, God has a holy remnant on whom He can count to accomplish His work. God can neither be overtaken nor overcome with evil. Nothing takes Him unawares just as nothing occurs to Him. God is not only sovereign but omnipotent. He is in control and that is why He alone can be God.
Do you know that God is counting on you to stand out for Him? You can be God’s faithful remnant in this century.
And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away….And the LORD said unto him… Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. 1 Kings 19:14, 15a, 18

Life has many challenges. Life is also full of Christians who have wandered away from the faith to engage in worldly pleasures which disgrace God. Like the Prophet Elijah, there are discouraging moments when you feel like you are the only one striving to live for God. However, this is not true.

In every generation, God has a remnant that does not bow to the “Baals” of the time. God has faithful Christians spread throughout the world who honor Him and shine their lights beautifully and clearly. Stand with the remnant. God delights in you. You do not have to be a well-known influential figure. Your heart just needs to burn with the fire of God as you listen and follow Him as He guides your steps. You are God’s chosen vessel for such times.
