God Expects Us to Participate in Spiritual Growth
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2

God earnestly expects us to give ourselves to Him as living sacrifices which are holy and acceptable out of love and reverence for what He has done for us.

It is our duty not to copy behaviors and customs which characterize this world. God expects His children to be truly born a new and to be different. This is an act of our will. We surrender and submit ourselves to Him, to His ways, and instructions. In turn, our minds and wills conform to His pattern. This is how we get to know what is good, pleasing, acceptable, and perfect before Him. This is how God’s children get satisfied in life.
