God is Counting on You

God Has a Remnant
Do you know that God is counting on you to stand out for Him? You can be God’s faithful remnant in this century.
And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away….And the LORD said unto him… Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. 1 Kings 19:14, 15a, 18

Life has many challenges. Life is also full of Christians who have wandered away from the faith to engage in worldly pleasures which disgrace God. Like the Prophet Elijah, there are discouraging moments when you feel like you are the only one striving to live for God.
In every generation, God has a remnant that does not bow to the “Baals” of the time. God has faithful Christians spread throughout the world who honor Him and shine their lights beautifully and clearly. Stand with the remnant. God delights in you.

Walk in faith

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, everyone a ruler among them. Numbers 13:1-2

The eyes of faith make you see things as God sees them and believe God to do as promised. The whole reason why Israel was walking through the wilderness was because God was taking them to the Promised Land. When He asked Moses to sent people to search the land, there are those who forgot that Canaan was their land of promise. They saw the land for what it was, a land flowing with milk and honey and plenteous in fruit but they were terrified by the size of the inhabitants.
Caleb and Joshua took God at His Word and stilled the Israelites saying, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it, Numbers 13:30. Believe God for what He has said and walk in faith.

Believe God

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah. 1 Kings 17:14-16

You will not witness your miracle or the full working of God in life until you step out in faith to believe God. Elijah was sent to the widow of Zeraphath when the land was plagued with famine and drought. Elijah could have discredited the possibility of having his needs met by an old poor widow. The widow could have disregarded the prophets words and continued in her usual lifestyle.
Believe God and do as His Word directs. His ways are higher than you ways even when they don’t make sense.

You Have Divine Protection

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 2 Kings 6:15-17

If our protection were to be left entirely to us, none of us would survive beyond a day. God protects His children in more ways than we can imagine. He surrounds us with His heavenly armies and weighs what has to come our way. He holds off the forces of evil and takes fear and anxiety from us.
Don’t be afraid. Only believe. You have divine protection from God.

Do Business with God

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many….Daniel 11:32

When you remain in the shallow waters of Christianity, you have no otherwise but to endure your Christian walk. Often, life will seem unfair and its burdens too numerous to bear. You will carry the weight of your burdens and maintain a defeated disposition and attitude. This discourages your heart and makes you walk in unbelief. You follow reluctantly at a distance and miss the intended joy for your journey.
Those who walk close to God maintaining fellowship and witnessing His works and power go forth to understand better and do exploits for God. They become teachers of what they have seen and heard. Don’t be satisfied with luke-warmness. God would rather you were either hot or cold. Half-hearted commitments and service are counterproductive. The devil likes nominal commitment. This way he can target, entice, and defeat you easily. Do business with God.
