Witnesses to The Resurrected Lord

People across this nation are looking for meaning in life. It is reported that over two million Americans quit their jobs at will every month because they are dissatisfied in one way or another. Despite the constant pursuit for happiness, many people are very unhappy. There is an increasing and alarming disclosure that many people lack meaning in life. Many go through the motions of life for the purpose of securing a pay check to put enough bread on their table.

If you are a Christian, you have the hope that millions are seeking today. Those who come to the knowledge of Christ as Lord and Savior turn from sin unto righteousness through repentance. They are washed in the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. They choose to die to self and follow their new found Lord and Master in whom they are raised to walk in newness of life. This is only possible because those who come to Christ become new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17) God gives them power to become the sons of God. (John 1:12) They are empowered to do God’s will and to be His witnesses. (Luke 24:49)

Christ is the hope for the world today. You are God’s witness light of hope to individuals, families, and communities. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Yes, you are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?

The Lord Jesus Christ sat at table with His twelve disciples and together, they ate the Last Supper before He was crucified. He looked at the men to whom He would soon leave the ministry and said, “Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.” (Matthew 26:21) With exceeding sorry, the disciples inquired who the betrayer could be. It was Judas Iscariot; one whom Christ had trained and even entrusted the treasury of the ministry. That very night, Judas went from dipping his hand in the same bowl with Christ to betraying the Savior.

Stand for God in a world that has lost truth and direction today. Stand for Christ in a world that is seeking satisfaction and fulfillment. Christ has left you on earth, to live in times such as these for this very purpose. Be true to your new found faith in Christ. Don’t betray the Savior. Do not leave His presence only to go back to actions, behaviors, and deals that testify against Him. You can be trustworthy. Be a man or woman of honor and integrity. Let your life testify that you are living in the newness and victory attained through the resurrected Lord. You have a message of hope for desperate people searching for meaning in life. Your message will be believed when those who are seeking can trust your character. Let them see the change that follows salvation. Be a true witness to the resurrected Lord.
