The Irony of God

The irony of God
God is full of irony. The great Psalmist of Israel, David, who stayed very close to God, put it in an excellent way: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
When Lot parted ways with Abram, I don’t think it occurred to the young man how soon he would need his uncle’s help again. A coalition of kings attacked Sodom and Gomorrah, the land in which Lot settled. The Bible records that, “They took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.” Genesis 14:12

Abram did not hesitate to go for “his brother.”

“When Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.” Genesis 14:14-16

The God of Abram is the one still watching out for you. The conniving, wrong intentions, schemes and evil plots of men and women against you will not take Him by surprise.

God is the only one who can speak to the inner fabric of your matrix. He understands the deep sighing of wonder that the heart can neither put in words nor speak about with openness.

Do not revenge or wish evil on those who despitefully use you. Give God room to avenge on your behalf. He does it better than the most skilled person you know.
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Romans 11:33
