12. You Are Favored for a Reason
Words have power to build, nurture and lead to success. Words can also break, cripple and lead to failure. God’s Words guide, grow, bless and give life. Unfortunately, most of us believe and follow the powerless words of secular godfathers and heroes more than God. This leaves us dejected and too dull for our spirits to hear and believe God. Every child of God is highly favored of God. You are special. God, in His sovereignty has created you for special work for which He has not only prepared but anointed you.
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations…. For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted. Psalm 89:1, 17

Don’t waste God’s favor. You are favored for a reason. Joseph, Jacob’s favorite son was sold by his jealous brothers to Egypt. God’s favor turned Joseph’s misfortunes and difficult situations into divine opportunities for His work. God favored Joseph in Potiphar’s house. The pagan pharaoh, too, realized that the young Hebrew slave boy was not an ordinary man. Joseph prospered. (Genesis 17:37)

It is such favor that took an ordinary shepherd boy and turned him into a mighty king. David testified of this favor as he faced the giant Goliath. God who had protected him from the bear and the lion would hand the uncircumcised Philistine into his hand.
God’s favor in your life will enable you to accomplish special tasks assigned to you.
Walk with Him and be what He desires of you. To help you avoid fear, review what God has done for you.
